The President of the Nso Community (BihNso) in Bafoussam, West Region of Cameroon, Shey Clifford Birfee, has lauded the success of the recently concluded Nso All Women Conference, calling it a milestone achievement for both Nso women in and out of Nso Land.

Speaking to The Post over the weekend, Shey Birfee expressed overwhelming joy and pride at the turnout and impact of the gathering. He revealed that witnessing such an influential event take place during his mandate as BihNso President exceeded his expectations and inspired his commitment to community service.
“I feel special and honoured because I would not imagine that such an event would come to happen when I am the President of the Nso community and I think that this has come a long way to motivate my leadership, and I also wish to encourage any other person that is into leadership,” he stated.
Reflecting on the logistics and community involvement that made the assembly possible, the BihNso leader praised the collective spirit demonstrated by the Nso community in Bafoussam as well Nso Cultural and Development Association (NSODA) throughout the event.
“I am particularly happy and expressed my joy at the just ended conference. The turn out was good and the community in Bafoussam collaborated very well for the success of that conference,” he added.
Highlighting the delicate socio-political climate in the Nso region, Shey Birfee commended the women for taking a proactive role in fostering harmony and healing. He emphasized that female-led peace initiatives are vital for the restoration and progress of the homeland.
“I think this conference served as the best opportunity that it is time for things to turn around. Nso is a great land. They have suffered a lot and the women taking the step towards peace is great and we must support them,” Shey Birfee emphasized.

He underscored that sustainable development cannot be achieved in isolation, urging all stakeholders to rally behind community-building efforts especially the initiative that the women are projecting.
He prayed for the swift realization of the conference’s objectives—specifically the upcoming Girl Empowerment Center planned to be constructed Nso—so that the younger generation back home can begin reaping the benefits of the community’s financial and social contributions.
The conference, organized by the Women’s Forum of NSODA took place on October 10, was held under the theme “New Dawn: ‘Ke’ Ye Fiyii’, Women Leading Change: Unity, Development, Impact.”
