This is the substance of the working session that took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon on October 2. It was led by CAMTEL General, Manager Judith Yah Sunday épouse Achidi and Bertrand Mahoukou Bitchinda of SPIN Gabon, as both parties furthered talks on key connectivity priorities.

According to available information, discussions focused in particular on the “CAB-CORRIDOR” initiative, designed to improve terrestrial interconnection between Cameroon, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo by leveraging the Central Africa Backbone (CAB) infrastructure.

The initiative also seeks to better use existing cross-border connection points, enhance digital exchange among CEMAC countries, and strengthen the resilience of the sub-region’s connectivity infrastructure—while complementing existing submarine cable links.

The meeting builds on groundwork already carried out by the partner operators, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and a confidentiality agreement.

Next steps will involve defining implementation modalities, expected in October 2026, in preparation for the planned operationalization of the CAB-CORRIDOR project.
