The fourth edition of Mafor Yah Judith Sunday’s Peace and Unity Football Tournament in Donga Mantung Division has kicked off.
The tournament kicked off on June 16 with Nkambe Central Subdivision Pool hosting the official launching ceremony. The ceremony brought together administrative authorities, football lovers, youths, as well as traditional rulers of Donga Mantung.

They praised Mafor Yah Judith Sunday, General Manager of CAMTEL, for her laudable efforts to building peace in the Division and promoting national unity.
Speaking at the official launch, the Sub Delegate for Sports and Physical Education, Victor Ndah, saluted Mafor Yah Judith’s commendable efforts in building a violence-free community through sports.
Besides revealing that matches will be played in the various playgrounds throughout Donga Mantung Division in the coming days, he added that the tournament will serve as a nursery to develop budding talents and encourage social cohesion.

On his part, H.R.H. Fon Amidu of Nkambe expressed his gratitude to Mafor Yah Judith for using football to achieve objectives that go beyond sports, such as building social cohesion, national integration, and enhancing peace.
H.R.H. Fon Stanley of Njap, while stressing the importance of peace and unity, said that football brings people together and breaks down barriers between youths and other community members.
Richard Tamnjong Ndi, Focal Point for Nkambe Central and a member of the local organizing committee, said Mafor Yah Judith has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that women can achieve just as much, if not more, than men.
Football fan John Ndi Nformi sees the tournament as more than just games as a chance to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, fostering connections and reducing tensions.
The tournament will be played across all five sub-divisions of Donga Mantung (Ako, Ndu, Nkambe, Nwa, and Misaje) over three months (June, July, August).
Young Stars beat Spartans FC in Opening Match

The Nkambe Central Sub-Division pool kicked off with a thrilling match between Spartans of Bih FC and Young Stars FC. Over 10,000 passionate supporters cheered as both teams showcased impressive skills, creating exciting moments throughout the game.
The electrifying atmosphere at the Nkambe Municipal Stadium spilled over, with the sounds of gongs, vuvuzelas, and drumbeats echoing through the hills of Njiseng and the lowlands of Bih, Njimptuh, and Tabenken. This vibrant energy served as a powerful symbol of the growing momentum behind the peacebuilding process.

Young Stars FC emerged victorious with a close 2-1 win over Spartans of Bih FC. The Nkambe Central Sub-Division pool features eight teams vying for the title: Young Stars FC, Kungi FC, Early Birds International of Tabenken, Formation Sango FC, New Market FC, Spartans FC of Bih, Mangwang FC, and Mansoh FC.
