Excerpts:
News-Lens: How do you feel after qualifying for the finals of the 2024 edition of the U.S. Embassy Ambassador’s Cup?
Coach Cyprian Ansambom: We are very happy to have qualified, even though it felt more like a formality after our last match because we had already qualified. Since we were the leaders, we had to maintain our position. We didn’t want to let things slip because we had qualified. No! We wanted to avoid giving away any chances and will maintain our focus until we get the trophy.
Playing Against Integrity in the finals, how do you see the game?
I want to believe that last week, we showed them a bit of what we’re capable of. We want to remind them that even playing with seven on the field, we can still make things difficult for them. We will continue to give them a hard time until we lift the trophy.
What can fans expect in the finals?
Fans and supporters should expect beautiful football. We’re going to give our guy’s enough training time so they can regain their form. We want to maintain a stylish playing style, something unseen before at Febe Village Stadium. Therefore, we promise the best game yet.
Has it been a smooth and easy ride to the finals?
It hasn’t been an easy ride considering we are a group of guys who work in two shifts. We work day and night. Most of the players work at night, and bringing them from their posts to play a 90-minute game after a 12-hour shift is not easy.
We had to get them together and help them gel before developing a playing style. This has been the biggest challenge, but we believe that by the final day, we will be polished and have a style to showcase.
