Cameroonian-born Noupoue Elvis has been selected as one of the referees to officiate in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Noupoue Elvis is the only Cameroonian on the list of 89 appointed officials to serve as an assistant referee for the Olympic football tournament.
Noupoue Elvis brings a wealth of experience to his role as a referee, having officiated numerous matches in Cameroon’s top league, the Elite One Championship.
The match officials selected include 21 referees, 42 assistant referees, 20 video match officials, and 6 support referees from 45 countries.
The Paris Olympic football tournament is scheduled to kick off on July 24, 2024, for men and July 25, 2024, for women.
“The preparation of match officials will be regularly and closely monitored before and during the Olympic Games by a team of FIFA technical coaches, including referees and video assistant referee (VAR) instructors, as well as match analysts, physical trainers, physiotherapists, and sports scientists, all of whom will provide the officials with the best possible advice and support,” FIFA said.
