SOYA Boys FC of Yaoundé have triumphed over Sarkitchi Social Club of Bonamoussadi, Douala with a convincing 3-0 victory in a friendly match played on June 22nd in Yaoundé.
The Yaoundé club secured an early lead in the opening minutes, capitalizing on a defensive error by Sarkitchi SC that resulted in a penalty.
Despite conceding a goal, Sarkitchi pressed forward in search of an equalizer. Their efforts nearly paid off at the 20-minute mark, but a brilliant save by the SOYA Boys goalkeeper denied them the opportunity.
However, SOYA Boys continued their dominance throughout the first half, dictating the pace of play and maintaining their lead going into halftime.
The second half saw SOYA Boys continue to dominate possession, constantly threatening Sarkitchi’s defense. Recognizing the pressure, Sarkitchi adjusted their tactics and managed to push the game back into their own half during the closing stages.
However, their hopes of a comeback were dashed away 20 minutes before the end of regulation time when SOYA Boys scored again from close range to extend their lead. Sarkitchi intensified their pressure in search of goals, but the SOYA Boys defense held firm.
The Yaoundé team put the game to bed with a third goal in extra time, securing a resounding 3-0 victory over Sarkitchi Social Club. Notably, the first leg of the friendly match played in Douala ended in a 3-3 draw.
Speaking shortly after the game, team officials highlighted the friendly match’s purpose of fostering unity, respect, and a positive sporting environment.
