Vitna Media Equips VTI-GATE With AI Implementation Knowledge

In a bold move to harness the potential of technology, Vitna Media, a prominent digital marketing agency, has empowered Vocational Training Institute of Giddis for Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship (VTI-GATE) by imparting essential knowledge in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This transformative initiative unfolded during a two-week seminar that kicked off on December 21 in Yaoundé, organized in collaboration with VTI-GATE. The seminar aimed to equip VTI-GATE staff with foundational AI knowledge and practical strategies to enhance productivity in their operations.

VTI-GATE is a specialized training department that operates under the umbrella of the Giddis Youth Technology Empowerment Center for Africa (GYTEC-Africa). The department is dedicated to equipping young individuals with essential skills and knowledge in technology, thereby fostering innovation and empowerment.

Speaking after the seminar, Gilfort Fur Fondzenyuy, the founder of GYTEC-Africa, shared his enthusiasm for the training, stressing its practical applications.

“This seminar has provided me with invaluable insights on leveraging AI to drive productivity within GYTEC-Africa,” he remarked. Fondzenyuy highlighted how the training has reshaped his understanding of AI’s relevance to his roles as a videographer, photographer, and administrator.

“This training will enhance my performance in several key ways,” he explained. “With AI tools, I can automate time-consuming tasks like editing and organizing footage, freeing up time for creative thinking and significantly reducing stress.”

Fur Fondzenyuy also emphasized the efficiency that AI brings to routine communications. “By setting up an AI agent to handle emails, I can focus on more pressing tasks. This training empowers me to offer personalized services to our clients, ensuring a better experience and greater satisfaction.”

Looking ahead, he is eager to implement AI software in his video editing and project management processes for immediate benefits.

“I plan to hold a meeting with my team to share what I learned, ensuring everyone is aligned on using AI in our projects. I will set specific goals for AI implementation to measure our progress and impact,” he stated. His expressed his commitment to exploring AI developments further demonstrates his dedication to enhancing organizational processes and maintaining a competitive edge.

Eldad Fonyuy Gaih, the lead trainer from Vitna Media, underscored the pivotal role of AI in modern business operations.

“AI is integral to our daily functions, aiding in market research, content creation, and client communications,” he explained. “For instance, major companies like Microsoft now utilize AI to manage over 50 percent of their customer service interactions, showcasing the direction in which business is heading.”

Fonyuy Gaih also highlighted the transformative impact of AI in countries like Kenya, where it is revolutionizing daily life. “AI-powered applications help farmers optimize crop yields and predict weather patterns, enhancing agricultural productivity. In healthcare, AI improves disease diagnosis even in remote areas.”

He stressed the importance of AI literacy, citing predictions from the World Economic Forum that while AI may displace 85 million jobs by 2025, it will also create 97 million new AI-related roles.

“Organizations like the UN’s World Food Program are already using AI to predict and prevent food crises. In Cameroon, professionals who are adept at using AI tools enjoy a 35-40 percent productivity advantage over their peers, underscoring the need for widespread AI literacy to remain competitive,” he added.

Throughout the seminar, participants gained foundational AI skills along with insights into marketing applications, AI for enhancing teacher productivity, and advanced AI applications for improving student performance.

Additionally, the seminar placed significant emphasis on cybersecurity, reminding attendees that integrating AI into workflows necessitates vigilance in protecting data and systems. “Combining AI knowledge with a robust cybersecurity framework can foster a safer, more efficient workplace that empowers us all,” experts advised.

As VTi-GATE embraces this new frontier, the future looks promising, with AI paving the way for enhanced productivity and innovation across Cameroon and the continent.
