The ceremony followed a meeting between N’guessan and MINEPAT Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey, who presented the honor on behalf of the President of the Republic. Minister Ousmane Mey praised N’guessan as a visionary leader, highlighting his diligent leadership that has brought significant benefits to both the Central African region and Cameroon.

In his address, N’guessan expressed heartfelt gratitude to Cameroon for its unwavering support throughout his tenure. He acknowledged the country’s longstanding partnership with the AfDB, recalling the pivotal role of the bank in financing projects like the Douala International Airport in the 1970s.

As N’guessan transitions from his role, his contributions to regional development and collaboration with Cameroon will be remembered as a significant chapter in the AfDB’s history.
