Orange Cameroun celebrated its 25th anniversary in the country on March 6 with the launch of a new brand signature, “Orange is Here,” and a series of customer rewards. The event that took place in Yaounde, was chaired by Minette Libom Li Likeng, Cameroon’s Minister of Posts and Telecommunications.

Minister Libom Li Likeng praised Orange Cameroun for its contributions to the country’s development over the past 25 years. “Beyond its achievements and evolution, Orange Cameroun has been actively involved in education, health, digitalization, and other key sectors,” she said.
She also urged the company to continue improving service quality to meet the government’s goal of a digital Cameroon. “There are many challenges, but we must solve them together,” she added.

Dr. Patrick Benon, Director General of Orange Cameroun, highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting the country and its population. “For over 25 years, we have worked to serve Cameroon. While we are proud of our progress, there is still much to do,” he said. Benon emphasized Orange’s role in corporate social responsibility, including the establishment of digital centers to support youth development.
The anniversary celebrations began with a press conference attended by key officials, including François Xavier Bella, Director of Operations; Yves Kom, Director of Marketing and Communications; and Alain Blaise Batongue, Director of Institutional Affairs. They reflected on the company’s journey and outlined its vision for the future of telecommunications in Cameroon.

As part of the celebrations, Orange Cameroun rewarded its loyal customers with special surprises. Subscribers who have been with the network since its launch on January 27, 2000, and those born on that day received 25 GB of data and 25,000 communication credit units. Additionally, all subscribers were entered into draws for tourist trips, smartphones, and Orange Bonus packages.
The new brand signature, “Orange is Here,” underscores the company’s commitment to being a reliable partner for its customers and a key player in Cameroon’s development. Orange Cameroun operates a robust network with over 3,000 sites and 3G/4G coverage exceeding 90% of the national territory. The company handles 76.5 million calls daily, highlighting its central role in the lives of Cameroonians.

Orange Cameroun also showcased its socio-economic contributions, including the rehabilitation of 32 digital schools and 30 maternity hospitals, the reforestation of 244 hectares of mangrove with over 600,000 trees planted, and the training of more than 3,000 young people. The company has also supported sports, particularly the Indomitable Lions since 2002, and cultural festivals like Ngouon and Ngondo, recognized by UNESCO.

The anniversary event highlighted Orange Cameroun’s ambition to remain at the forefront of technology, with its futuristic headquarters in Douala housing one of the largest data centers in Central and West Africa.
