Artists from Nso land in the Bui Division of the Northwest region of Cameroon have come together to honor their fallen father and hero through an emotional song.

The #NsoFirst Ambassadors released the song recently. They include Chilli Wawaye, DJ Parker, Skiezy Ayenkia, Witty Minstrel, Gasper V., Yaah Yov, Maika Laura, and Ricky Limnyuy.
Nfoome Ndzerem Stephen passed away on January 8th after a brief illness. As the CEO of Strategic Humanitarian Services – SHUMAS Cameroon, he made a significant impact on his community, especially through his philanthropic endeavours.
In their heartfelt song titled “Mfoome Stephen Ghan Kijung,” the #NsoFirst Ambassadors express their sorrow but consoled themselves since they know he is now with God. They lament that despite their attempts “to reach him”, he never answered, and all they can wish for is his safe journey.
“Journey well, Nfoome Stephen Ndzerem Njodzeka. Journey well, Nfoome Stephen Ndzerem Njodzeka. If lives could be exchanged, we would willingly trade yours for one hundred others. You were a true community leader,” the artists sing.
They added, “Nso has lost a hero. Ta Nfoome, your death is heartbreaking. It’s hard to believe you have gone. You left your children in tears. A father with a big heart, you will always be there for us when we call… we pray God keeps you in a peaceful place.”
In gratitude for his contributions, the #NsoFirst Ambassadors stressed that he dedicated so much to serving communities, and they honor him for his remarkable works as he embarks on his journey to meet God. “We will always remember you.”

In deep emotion, they urged Nfoome Stephen Ndzerem Njodzeka to greet Cardinal Tumi and others who have served the community in various capacities and had move on to be with God.
Nfoome Stephen Ndzerem Njodzeka was the former President General of the Nso Cultural and Development Association (NSODA). Under his leadership, he served Nso and Cameroon in various sectors, earning a reputation as a leader committed to uplifting communities and inspiring change.
Born in Kumbo, Cameroon, Mfoome Ndzerem dedicated his life to empowering communities through education, sustainability, and compassion. After obtaining certifications from the University of Colorado and UC Berkeley, he founded Strategic Humanitarian Services (SHUMAS) in 1997—a grassroots initiative that evolved into one of Central Africa’s most influential NGOs. His motto, “Growth begins where resources end,” drove 28 years of transformative work.
His influence extended beyond SHUMAS to post-conflict reconstruction efforts as a committee member in the North West Region, solidifying his legacy as a champion of community empowerment who mentored emerging leaders while overseeing one of Central Africa’s most impactful NGOs.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Stephen was a devoted father of four, an enthusiastic gardener, and a mentor to young leaders. His favorite saying, “When you lift others, you rise together,” will always be remembered.
