Indomitable Lion’s Technical Team Confirmed After FECAFOOT, MINSEP Resolve Dispute

A month-long disagreement and uncertainty surrounding the Cameroon national football team, the Indomitable Lions, have finally come to an end.

The Ministry of Sports and Physical Education (MINSEP) and the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) have reached an agreement on the Lions’ technical staff.

This public dispute had raised concerns about the team’s preparation for upcoming World Cup qualifying matches on June 8 and 11.

However, a May 30th press conference at FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaounde brought together Samuel Eto’o (FECAFOOT President), Marc Brys (proposed coach), and Michel Dissake Mbarga (representing the Sports Minister). The outcome? Green lights for all parties.

FECAFOOT’s official communique confirmed Marc Brys as the Indomitable Lions’ head coach. Notably, deputies Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and David Pagou, who interestingly, had previously resigned from their positions, rejoined the team.

This agreement effectively eliminates the separate coaching staff appointed by Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, Minister of Sports leaving only the Belgian coach and his two assistants. The Indomitable Lions can now move forward with a unified technical team.
