Organizers of the prestigious chocolate pastry competition, dubbed “The Battle of Chocolatiers and Pastry Chefs,” have announced major innovations prior to the official kick-off of its second edition, scheduled for April 10 to 12 at the Yaoundé City Council.

Participants in the 2025 Chocolate and Pastry Jamboree will include master’s and doctorate holders, who will demonstrate that pastry and chocolate making are demanding disciplines that combine science and creativity.
Organized alongside Festicacao, the event aims to promote a profession often perceived as a simple craft but which is, in reality, a true art form that transforms chocolate into exceptional works and creates pastries that are both sublime and delicious.
“We want to show that this profession deserves to be valued,” said Aristide Tchemtchoua, promoter of the competition. The competitors will be divided into two categories: amateurs and professionals, with more than 15 candidates competing in a friendly environment.
Present at the event was candidate Aude Njiki, who stated, “We are going to learn a lot, and everything will unfold in a calm atmosphere.” Among the level-headed jury will be iconic French pastry expert Jean-Paul Hévin, a world champion chocolate maker.

“Recipes were shared with the candidates from Cameroon and Togo to help them succeed,” Aristide Tchemtchoua said, emphasizing the organizers’ commitment to supporting participants toward excellence.
Innovations for 2025
Journalists will be invited to compete, adding a media-friendly and fun touch to the event. The winners will receive prestigious prizes, including professional training.
