News-Lens: Congratulations captain! How do you feel after qualifying for this year’s final of the Ambassador’s Cup?
Shufai Ndzefoncho: It was a very difficult match, but thank God, we made it through in the end. We’re playing in the Ambassador’s tournament, which is composed of four teams from different sections of the embassy. As of now, the most important thing is that we’ve qualified for the finals.
What was the secret to your success?
We fought hard because we knew we were in a very tough situation and needed to score goals. One goal wouldn’t have been enough; we needed more. Thankfully, my players understood my instructions, as I was both captain and coach.
What are your ambitions for the finals?
Like anyone who reaches the finals, we’re optimistic about winning. We’re going to do our best, but when the day comes, we’ll see what God has planned for us.
How do you see the second game, given that you’ll be facing the winner from the other bracket?
There are no easy teams in this competition. In any football match, anything is possible. We’re praying that we can perform our best and win on that day.
What’s unique about this year’s tournament?
The unique thing is that unlike previous editions, the Ambassador used to only attend the finals, perhaps. This year, however, he has witnessed all the matches. It’s a great source of motivation.
